Day 1: Havana

Welcome to the capital of Cuba where you'll get to experience colonial architecture, classic cars and grand plazas before this evening's get-together with your travelling companions and tour leader. No visit to Havana is complete without soaking up the sights within the UNESCO World Heritage listed old town which still retains the architecture that was present during the 16th and 17th centuries. Undeniable colonial highlights include the fortifications of Castillo del Morro, La Cabana and San Salvador de la Punta, which were all originally constructed to protect Havana from invaders attacking from the sea. Further Spanish and religious importance can be found within the Cathedral de San Cristobal and the Church of San Francisco de Asis, both of which have played their part in cementing Havana's heritage firmly on the cultural map. Why not head to the Parisien or the Tropicana clubs this evening for some local dancing? Accommodation: Hotel included | Meals paid locally

Day 2: Havana & Vinales

Bid Havana adios for now as you head for the amazing limestone rock formations of Vinales Valley. This is your first chance to discover life outside of the city as well as learning more about Cuba's most famous export on a tour of a tobacco plantation. Visit a cigar factory in Pinar del Rio and pick up some local artisan souvenirs before heading out for a sunset meal. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast and lunch included

Day 3: Cienfuegos

Swim in crystal clear waters en route to the Bay of Pigs where you can find out more about Cuba's passionate and revolutionary heritage. Your next stop is the beautiful coastal city of Cienfuegos. The UNESCO World Heritage listing for Cienfuegos is entirely justified as not only is the city blessed with some exceptionally well-preserved colonial architecture it's also revered as being one of the best examples of 19th century Spanish urban planning. The Arco de Triunfo, the Cathedral de la Purisma Concepcion and the Palacio de Valle are all well-worth a visit however, if you just fancy taking it easy and soaking up the sun then there are a wealth of parks, beaches and botanical gardens where you can do just that. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast included

Day 4: Trinidad

Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Trinidad, a great place to stroll over cobbled streets, visit museums, and listen to the click-clack of hooves signalling yet another horse-drawn cart. Often considered to be the best-preserved example of a colonial town within the whole of Cuba it will come as no surprise that today is often regarded as one of the unforgettable highlights of the tour. An evening of dancing is highly recommended and there's no better venue than the aptly named Casa de la Trova which presents a traditional and passionate introduction both to the people and to the music of Latin America. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast and dinner included

Day 5: Trinidad

This is your day to enjoy as you see fit and what a better way to make use of the sunshine than with an optional catamaran trip. There are loads of extra excursions to enjoy in Trinidad with Caribbean islands (Cayo Macho or Cayo Blanco) and national park walking trails (El Cubano) always proving to be popular choices. There is simply no better way to make the most of the sunshine on your free day than diving straight into the Caribbean and even if you don't opt to set sail on a catamaran you'll still find plenty of excuses to enjoy a tropical cocktail or two as the sun sets on yet another perfect day in paradise. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast and dinner included

Day 6: Santa Clara & Havana

Viva la Revolucion! This won't be the first or the last time that you'll hear about Che Guevara and as you leave Trinidad and travel to Santa Clara you'll be invited to visit the museum, monument and the mausoleum to help you learn more about Cuba's famous revolutionary icon. There's no better place to find out more about Che Guevara than in Santa Clara and no matter what you may think of his politics it's impossible to deny that this is one of history's most enigmatic revolutionary heroes and well-deserving of your time and respect. From here you head back to Havana. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast included

Day 7: Havana

Rediscover some old haunts and explore some new ones on a walking tour of the city. Stop for a bite to eat at La Bodeguita del Medio, the one-time hang-out of Ernest Hemingway, before learning how to shake it with the best of them at a traditional cocktail class followed by salsa dancing with the locals. If you're looking to find out more about Cuba's often volatile past then the Museum of the Revolution (which is now the home of the former Presidential Palace) is well-worth a visit. Accommodation: Hotel included | Breakfast and lunch included

Day 8: Havana

Awake from your slumber to the smells of breakfast before either continuing on your tour or bidding farewell to Cuba and your new found friends. Breakfast included Extend your time in Cuba by travelling just a few hours from Havana to the idyllic island of Cayo Levisa. Stay in an en suite beach cabin and wake up each day to a beautiful 4km stretch of golden sand beach and inviting turquoise waters. There are no roads or other buildings on the small island just off the north west coast of Cuba, only the hotel and its bar and restaurant. All meals are included and for those who don't just want to relax in the sun, there are plenty of opportunities for water sports such as snorkelling and diving. Extensions can be arranged for any length of stay, and include transfers to and from Havana. Prices available on request.
