It's not just about seeing America, it's about experiencing some of 'the biggest', 'the best', 'the oldest,' and 'oddest'sites, sounds and attractions in the world. This tour also delivers a careful balance of the most incredible national parks of America, bestmusic cities, trails to hike and night hot spots to frequent including Vegas. This is Americana in all her glory!

Day 1: New York Area & Finger Lakes Be sure to leave yourself a day or two to experience the excitement of the Big Apple before the tour starts, take a trip to the top of the Empire State Building or go shopping along Fifth Avenue, the opportunities are endless. Next up is Finger Lakes and we're pretty sure you're going to love it. Here you'll find an abundance of vineyards and award-winning wines, you won't know where to start. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 2: Niagara Falls Then it's on to one of America's greatest natural attractions, Niagara Falls. Experience the full force of the falls as you don your blue poncho and hop aboard the Maid of the Mist cruise, just prepare to get a little wet as you get up close and personal to a serious amount of water. For the ultimate show head to the falls at night and see the falls lit up in all their glory. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 3-4: Cleveland & Louisville Cleveland prides itself on being a city that doesn't take itself too seriously, so you're bound to have tons of fun here. Within a giant pyramid, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame boasts hand-scribbled lyrics by Lennon, Hendrix, and Jim Morrison's cub-scout outfit, you might even spot people doing yoga on the front lawn, it's just that kind of place. Louisville is one good looking city, with a picturesque waterfront and over 120 parks and the nation's largest urban forest, there are lots of green spaces for you to explore and relax in. Day 5: Nashville If you weren't a country music fan before, one visit to toe-tapping Nashville and you soon will be! Pay a visit to one of the biggest music venues in the south, The Grand Ole Opry and if you're really feeling the country vibe, how about a spot of line dancing? Learn about the history of country music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. One thing's for sure, it's not called `Music City' for nothing! Accommodation: Hostel included

 

Day 6-7: Memphis Memphis is the birthplace of Rock & Roll, and you won't want to miss out on a visit to Sun Studio, where the likes of Johnny Cash and BB King recorded their most famous records. Head on down to Beale Street where music is literally playing around every corner. There is more to Memphis than just music, pay a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum located in the former Lorraine Hotel and see the place where Martin Luther King was assassinated. But, you can't go home without a trip to the former home of `The King' Elvis Presley in Graceland. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 8: Hot Springs, Arkansas No prizes for guessing how Arkansas' Spa City got its name, one of the smallest national parks in the system and the perfect spot to relax and rest your tired bones in the hot springs. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 9-10: Oklahoma Oklahoma is rich in American culture and heritage and as you travel down a section of the original Route 66, pick up some memorabilia for the folks back home. For all things cowboy check out the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. In the evening step into the Wild Horse Saloon for some dancing. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 11: Amarillo Leaving Oklahoma behind, stop by Lucille's Service Station & Roadhouse for a full dose of Americana. Next get all your road trip facts at the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, chock-full of Mother Road memorabilia and history. Grab yourself a spray can and head to the iconic Cadillac Ranch, where ten vintage cars are buried nose first into the Texan dust, get creative and be a part of the art as graffiti is welcomed here. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 12: Blue Hole, Santa Rosa This definitely is no mirage, the crystal clear waters of the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa definitely does exist. This incredible blue pool is part of an underground water system which means the water is renewed every six hours and the result of this is the clearest water you've ever seen. So grab your swimsuit and jump right in, just watch out for the SCUBA divers who flock here to experience this natural wonder. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 13-14: Santa Fe For all the art lovers out there Santa Fe is the one for you, visit Canyon Road, home to art galleries, cultural treasures such as hand-woven Navajo rugs, historic adobe buildings and a vibrant restaurant scene. Santa Fe will definitely win you over with its laid back charm and with tons of festivals and events throughout the year, you're bound to stumble upon something interesting. Accommodation: Camping included.

 

Day 15: Durango Crossing the Colorado border we hit Durango. The buildings on Main Street still resemble the old Wild West as steam trains puff into town and its rodeo time most evenings. Yee-hah! With the beautiful San Juan Islands as a backdrop, there are tons of hiking and biking adventures to be had. Accommodation: Camping included.

 

Day 16: Mesa Verde National Park Visit the archaeological world heritage site and see how the Anasazi used to live hundreds of years ago. This is some prime real estate at Mesa Verde National Par and the stone cut cliff dwellings are highly recommended. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 17: Monument Valley On the road again and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes, used as the set for countless Western movies, including the recent remake of The Lone Ranger. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an optional guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and back roads. As you marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape during the day, wait till the sun goes down and you're swapping camp fire stories under a blanket of stars. Day 18-19: Grand Canyon National Park Humongous! Gigantic! No word quite captures the dramatic views that your scenic hike or optional helicopter flight delivers. Walk the rim trail and gaze across and into the vast canyon or take the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens or Plateau Point for a view from deep in the canyon, whichever route you decide to take the views will leave you speechless. Watch the colours come alive as you witness the sun set or rise on this phenomenal natural wonder, mind blowing! Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 20-21: Las Vegas Today you travel along a section of the original Route 66, which at one time, was the only way to travel on the great American road trip. You'll stop off at the quirky town of Seligman, where you will have the chance to buy some classic Americana memorabilia for your friends and family back home. Just before you reach the neon city you'll stop for a view of Hoover Dam and then it's time to get your swimsuit on and soak up the desert sun before diving into a limousine tour of The Strip. Indulge in an all you can eat buffet, take in a show or simply enjoy the neon attractions many of the hotel casinos have to offer. For the best view of Sin City take to the sky on an optional helicopter flight down The Strip. For those who want a bit more nature, then the famous Red Rock Canyon isn't far either. Day 22: Nevada Desert Along the 'Extraterrestrial Highway', we only promise one close encounter - with the town of Rachel, 'UFO capital of the World'. From the forests to the desert the drive through Nevada is incredible and you will be amazed at the fascinating and contrasting scenery you see out of your window. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 23: Lake Tahoe Tucked away in the Sierra Nevada and with 300-plus days of sunshine a year, Lake Tahoe is a scenic paradise. Swim, kayak, hike or enjoy a myriad of water-based activities in this picturesque setting and top off your evening with an optional sunset catamaran cruise! Tonight why not play the house in one of the flash casinos or hit a bar with your fellow trekkers? Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 24-25: Yosemite National Park Yosemite is the pride and joy of the West Coast and is home to some of the most spectacular scenery around, from Giant Sequoias to glacier carved granite monoliths and thundering waterfalls. Once inside Yosemite, keep your eyes peeled and your cameras at the ready for some incredible wildlife sightings. Bears often frequent the area and when the sun goes down listen out for coyotes howling amidst the pines and sequoias. This is a paradise for any lover of the outdoors and whatever activities you get up to in Yosemite, you're sure to have a blast. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 26: San Francisco On your last day with your fellow Trekkers you head back to the bright lights of another exciting city on California's west coast. Famous for its waterfront full of tasty seafood and what is probably one of the world's most iconic landmarks, the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore the quirky bars and cafes where the beatnik generation hung out or grab a bite to eat in Chinatown. You'll never be bored in San Francisco, there are heaps of things to do and see. This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
