Cram a huge helping of virtually everything into two fantastic weeks, from the bustling excitement of the big cities to the fun and sun of Florida's beaches and everything else in between. Visit historical Philadelphia and Washington DC, walk a section of the famous Appalachian Mountains and embrace your inner child at DisneyWorld, Florida. For the more extreme amongst you hit the white water rapids of the Ocoee River for some high-adrenaline fun. Then take it down a gear with some live music in the Deep South, before topping up your tan on some of Florida's sparkling white sandy beaches, there is no surprise that this tour is one of our favs.

Day 1-2: New York Area, Philadelphia & Washington DC Heading out of the New York area, the first stop is Philadelphia to check out the Liberty Bell, Independence Halls and the famous steps which Rocky climbed, so grab your camera and recreate a piece of movie history! If all that running has got you hungry, you can hit the Reading Terminal Market to bargain for local treats or grab yourself a Philly Cheese Steak - one of the many famous local specialities and not to be missed! Washington DC is next on the agenda and we recommend heading into the centre as the sun sets for an illuminated view of the monuments. It makes for a spectacular first evening and a perfect introduction to the grandeur of the nation's capital. Explore the best of this historic city the next day with an included bike tour then take advantage of the great nightlife in picturesque Georgetown. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 3: Appalachian Mountains It's time to be awe-struck as you enter the Appalachian Mountains a place full of natural beauty. This super-sized, 1,500 mile mountain chain is also home to the American black bear and former haunt of the Cherokee Indians! Although today is primarily a long drive day, you are rewarded by views of the Appalachian Mountains and dense greenery that this area is so well-known for. There is time for a short walk, so get out and stretch those legs in some of America's most beautiful scenery, you'll soon realise why people flock here in their thousands every year. Day 4: Tennessee It's time for some excitement as you enter the vibrant and eclectic Deep South. This is the home of country music so make sure you get your vocals at the ready because you'll be singing along in no time. Want more action? Don a lifejacket, grip a paddle and bounce along a churning stretch of white water for pure adrenalin down the Ocoee River, which is the actual course used during the Centennial Olympic Games in 1996. Day 5: Nashville From Honky Tonk bars to The Grand Ole Opry, they don't call Nashville the 'centre of the music world' for nothing! This place is full life and you'll be hot footing your way from one country bar to the next. Find out all about the history of music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. Before you know it you'll be telling the whole world how much you love country music. Accommodation: Hotel included

 

Day 6: Memphis Located near the Mississippi River, Memphis has a long and colourful past. Why not visit Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley who had a huge influence on country, blues and rock & roll music as well as being the second-most visited private home in the USA after the White House? Visit the home of Rock N' Roll with a visit to Sun Studios which opened in 1950, a place where many great names have passed through. There is more to Memphis than just music, pay a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum located in the former Lorraine Hotel and see the place where Martin Luther King was assassinated. In the evening head over to the legendary Beale Street which really comes alive at night with neon-lit signs, live street performers and soul and blues music at every turn. Day 7-8: New Orleans Now we're talking all that jazz! Hear the real deal at Preservation Hall or do the Huckleberry Finn thing as you chug along the Mississippi River. New Orleans simmers with Deep South charm so grab a Po-Boy, a bowl of Gumbo or some home cooked Jambalaya and pull up a chair in the French Quarter to watch the world go by. If the food of the Deep South gets your mouth watering why not join a cookery course at the New Orleans School of Cookery. By night, explore the bars in Frenchman Street for live music and dancing without the crowds. Accommodation: Hotel included

 

Day 9-10: Panama City Beach Get your first taste of American beach life at the Gulf of Mexico's 'Southern Riviera' - Panama City. If you've been dreaming of lazy beach days and sunset cruises, then you'll fall head over heels for this place. Pull out your dancing shoes as the party spirit simmers into the small hours at the famous beach front clubs of the Gulf Coast. Tomorrow may be the perfect day to recover on the beach and soak up the sun in a hammock.perfection! Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 11: Florida & Natural Springs You're in the Sunshine State so why not make the most of it and head to the beach and top up that tan of yours? You might as well make the most of your time in paradise. If you've had enough of lazing about on the sandy beaches, grab your snorkel and head to one of Florida's many crystal clear natural springs or better yet hop on a tube and just float around this unbelievable place. Day 12-13: Orlando Embrace your inner kid with an included visit to DisneyWorld. Meet your childhood hero, Mickey Mouse or if that isn't your thing battle Voldemort at Universal Studios' Harry Potter World or cross the final frontier at Kennedy Space Center, both of which are out of this world. Orlando is one big playground and after a full day satisfying your thirst for fun, you'll sleep like a baby. Accommodation: Camping included

 

Day 14: Orlando & Miami Before you head home, make sure you get your last fix of sandy beaches and glorious sunshine down at SoBe (aka South Beach). Stroll the art deco seafront, or if you're staying on for another night pose with the beautiful people in ultra-cool nightspots as you celebrate a fantastic trip. Be sure to spend a few extra days in this sun-soaked city to mingle with the locals and salsa the night away! This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
