Day 1: Los Angeles & Santa Barbara With the Californian sun on your face you're off to Hollywood where you'll find the famous sign and Walk of Fame. It's now time to leave the glitz and glam of `La la land' behind you and head to the coast. First up is Santa Barbara, a "gem of a coastal city" with a decidedly Spanish flair with miles of pristine sandy beaches, this is a great introduction to the incredible Californian Coast. Accommodation: Camping included

Day 2: Big Sur With each passing mile on California's most famous road, the Pacific Coast Highway the shore grows yet more spectacular, as Redwood forested mountains lean down towards beautiful sandy beaches and the pounding Pacific swell. Follow the coastal path to the one of the most iconic scenes of the Big Sur, McWay Falls a stunning 80 foot waterfall that cascades directly onto its own private beach. With such amazing scenery and tons of wildlife such as sea lions and whales, there is no wonder this is one of the best stretches of road on the West Coast. Accommodation: Camping included

Day 3-4: Yosemite National Park As you say `so long' to the ocean for a couple of days you head towards the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the towering peaks of Yosemite National Park. You'll have two days to hike, bike, or float through this extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths, spectacular waterfalls and groves of giant Sequoia trees. Make the most of the great selection of hiking trails suitable for all levels of fitness and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for bears and coyotes who roam the trails too. Accommodation: Camping included

Day 5-6: San Francisco Come fog or shine this city is awesome! Start with a tour of Haight-Ashbury a street oozing with hippy vibes and plenty of quirky shops and cafes. Head down to Pier 39 to see the resident sea lions who flock there in their hundreds and then grab yourself a delicious crab roll at Fisherman's Wharf. The highlights keep coming thick and fast with an included trip to the city's most famous attraction, Alcatraz (2015 dates only). Learn all about the prisoners who spent their lives trying to escape with a superb audio tour. You can't go all way to San Francisco without a stroll across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and better yet why not set sail on an optional sunset sail cruise for a different perspective of the famous bridge. Accommodation: Hotel included Note: 2014 departures will join an included sunset sailboat cruise around San Francisco Bay instead of the visit to Alcatraz.

Day 7-8: Redwood National Park Take in the stunning scenery as you drive up the Californian Coast to Redwood National Park .Get out and stretch those legs with a hike through Tall Trees Grove trail and keep an eye out for elk and bears who can be found hiding under the canopy of the Redwoods too. As the name suggest these trees are tall and are in fact the tallest trees on earth, so be prepared to spend a lot of time looking up. As you explore more of the park you might start to recognise the canyons covered in fern and moss from Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World, don't worry the dinosaurs are long gone. After an amazing day in Redwood National Park watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean on what is virtually your own private beach. Sounds like the perfect day, right? Accommodation: Camping included

Day 9-10: Portland The fact that you'll see the slogan `Keep Portland Weird' plastered everywhere makes this uber cool city even more intriguing. A city full of quirky cafes, cool hipster folk and the best doughnut shop a person could ask for, Voodoo Doughnuts, a must visit whether it's for breakfast or just for a cheeky snack, just do it! For the more healthy option check out the numerous Farmers Markets that seem to pop up everywhere, oh and let's not forget about the beer. With over 30 breweries dotted across the city you`ll never go thirsty in Portland. Accommodation: Hostel included

Day 11: Mount Rainier National Park Journey into the heart of the Cascade Mountains to Mount Rainier National Park, the Range's head honcho and its hiking trails sure live up to the hype. There are over 300 miles available on the parks' network of trails, everything from easy walks through the forests to heart pounding climbs up to the mountain's glaciers. Mount Rainier is the perfect introduction to the lush and vibrant landscape of Washington State and depending on the time of the year you visit you could be hiking knee deep in snow which just adds to the awesomeness of the place. Accommodation: Camping included

Day 12-13: Olympic National Park Get ready to roll out for a blast of fresh-air adventure amidst dense rainforest and ancient glaciers. Washington's jewel, Olympic National Park, offers a wide range of vistas including glacier carved valleys, snowy peaks, spectacular coastal beaches and an ancient rain forest to explore and enjoy. If sore feet deserve a little TLC, let Sol Duc Hot Springs do the honours. Soak it up! This is the life. Accommodation: Camping included

Day 14: Seattle Leaving the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula behind we journey across Puget Sound aboard the ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle. Why not whisk yourself 500ft up the Space Needle, taking in the spectacular setting from a glass elevator or if you prefer to explore at ground level then get yourself to Pike Place Market and watch as the famous fish mongers throw fish to each other while you grab yourself a bowl of clam chowder. Seattle is just another awesome city on the Pacific Coast, you have definitely been well and truly spoilt. This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs.
